AI in Transportation: Onstar Meets Watson

AI in transportation changes driver experience

In yet another application of AI in transportation, General Motors and IBM announced today integration of IBM’s platform. Watson will go into GM’s Onstar system.

The industry’s first cognitive mobility platform may reach millions of drivers by the end of 2017.  GM in their statement also forecasted total Onstar users to be 16 million by the end of 2016.

The enhanced service will connect drivers and passengers with brands such as ExxonMobil, Glympse, iHeartRadio, Mastercard and Parkopedia.

AI in Transportation and Expectations

While the application of AI integration is designed to improve driver experience, it is also expected to make many mundane acts while driving, like ordering coffee or doing errands, easier and faster.

AI in transportation is a Bold idea that is seeing lots of Bold Actions.
