Ride-sharing has made quite an impact when it first came to the market in 2012, and even overtaking taxis in several markets. The number of Uber vehicles in New York alone has outnumbered taxis, which in effect has allowed Uber drivers to earn more. The company started operating in 2009, but it wasn’t until 2012 when UberX was introduced to the market and it quickly picked up.
